The topic of leadership is one that has captivated the minds of scholars, executives, and thinkers for centuries. To make it simple, the first basic step to be a leader can be summarised as “Leader is one, who has followers”. This statement discriminates leadership from having a position of authority. People may follow instruction coming from authority out of some fear, but when same instruction or an objective is followed with respect, person in authority becomes Leader. So, a leader can be without authority but carries lots of responsibility.
But what is it that compels individuals to follow certain leaders?
Throughout history and across cultures, followers have been drawn to those who could kindle purpose in their souls, withstand adversity through decisive judgment, model integrity in their actions, genuinely nurture their growth, and make them feel truly valued and understood beyond just being cogs in a machine.

At the core of leadership is a self-aware person, self-awareness is not just about understanding our unique personality traits, behaviour patterns, and values, but it’s also about understanding how those affect the various aspects of our lives, including our relationships and those around us.
